The competition, called Team Quest, enables able-bodied and/or disabled riders to compete in a range of dressage classes in teams of three or four. Designed to bring fun to novice dressage the teams are encouraged to create their team name that captures their personalities, and wear matching team colours instead of the more formal white breeches usually associated with dressage. Some teams even colour co-ordinate their horse’s tack to match too!
The first Team Quest competition was held at the Unicorn Centre on Sunday 6 April, and was a great success. The winning team was Desperate Horsewives, second was Brittania Bays, third Benridge Birds and fourth Fillies on Top.
Centre Manager Claire Pitt said, “Everyone looked great in their team turnout. The teams were really competitive and enjoyed the more informal atmosphere. We hope to see everyone back on 4 May for the next event.”
Team Quest competitions will be held at the Unicorn Centre on 1 June, 6 July, 3 Aug and 7 September.
