Imagine your child leaving a session feeling calmer, more confident and proud of themselves.
We're preparing to launch Equine Wellbeing Coaching Taster Sessions at the RDA Unicorn Centre.
Led by our Level 3 Trauma-Informed Equine Wellbeing Coaches, these sessions are designed to help children and young people build confidence, emotional resilience and self-belief through meaningful interactions with our horses.
There is no riding involved, no previous horse experience required and no expectation to share more than they're comfortable with.
Every child deserves the chance to feel safe, confident and understood.
If you think your child could benefit, we'd love to tell you more.
"What actually happens in an Equine Wellbeing Coaching session?"
It's one of the questions we're asked most often!
Each session is carefully tailored to the young person, but activities may include:
Meeting and getting to know the horse
Grooming and gentle interaction
Confidence-building activities
Mindfulness and breathing exercises
Games that encourage emotional awareness
Everything takes place on the ground—there is no riding involved.
The focus isn't on learning about horses.
It's about helping young people discover confidence, resilience and emotional wellbeing, with horses providing calm, honest feedback throughout the experience.
Why are horses so good for wellbeing?
Because horses don't judge.
They don't care about exam results, social media, fitting in or saying the "right" thing.
They simply respond to how a person is feeling in the moment.
For many young people, that creates something incredibly powerful.
A calm environment
A trusted connection
Space to build confidence
Time to explore emotions safely
Many young people find it easier to regulate their emotions and communicate while spending time with horses than they do in more traditional settings.
No horse experience is needed just an open mind and a willingness to give it a try.
Who could benefit from equine wellness coaching?
Every child experiences challenges differently.
For some, anxiety makes everyday situations feel overwhelming. For others, confidence has slowly disappeared, or emotions become difficult to manage.
Our Equine Wellbeing Coaching sessions have been designed for children and young people who may be:
Feeling anxious or worried
Struggling with confidence
Finding friendships or social situations difficult
Needing support with emotional wellbeing or self-esteem
Working alongside horses can help children feel calm, understood and accepted—without the pressure of a traditional classroom or counselling environment.
Every session is tailored to the individual and delivered by our qualified trauma-informed coaches.
If you'd like to know whether these sessions could be suitable for your child, please get in touch.
Our qualified trauma-informed coaches are here to guide every step of the journey.
Open to children aged 10+ and adults.
