NIKITA’S EPIC CLIMB
CLIMBING local landmark Roseberry Topping near Great Ayton is a bit of a stroll for most people but for 9 year old Nikita from Middlesbrough it’s a big deal.
She’s a regular horse rider at the Riding for the Disabled Association’s Unicorn Centre in Hemlington and loves her weekly lessons on pony Biker. And her love of riding has spurred her on to fundraise for the charity.

COME AND MEET A UNICORN AT THE UNICORN CENTRE
Our hugely popular Unicorn Day party is returning to Hemlington on Wednesday 12 April after a three year break due to the Covid restrictions.
Visitors are invited to come along to look around the Centre, meet lots of Unicorns, and take part in Unicorn-themed activities and fundraising events. Children will be able to ride a “Unicorn” pony in a magical indoor woodland glade, and meet baby ‘Unicorns’. There will be craft stalls, Unicorn activities, raffle, tombola, bottle stall and refreshments on offer.

SPRING ON ITS WAY?
Apparently spring is on its way, but I think you’ll agree it feels a long way off at the moment. Our ponies are still tucked up in their rugs when they’re out in the fields, and are always quite keen to return to their dry warm stables. And our busy yard team will be very pleased when the mud has gone – some of our more hairy ponies are quite a challenge to keep clean!
